Q. What is the difference between "horizontal stripe" and "vertical stripe"? |
|
A. A natural bamboo stock is hollow and the walls of the plant are fairly thin. Strips of bamboo are therefore laminated together to make the flooring. The terms "horizontal" and "vertical" refer to the manner in which the bamboo strips are laminated together. Inthe horizontal style the strips are laid flat so the top surface shows the bamboos natural growth rings. In the vertical style the stripsare turned on their sides and laminated together in long, slender rows creating a different appearance. |

Q. Can a bamboo floor be floated? |
|
A. The bamboo flooring is a four-sided solid tongue and groove product that can be nailed to a wood sub-floor or glued directly to particle board sub-floor. A floating installation is highly recommended on concrete subfloor as it holds too much moisture, and it
will be more protected with water proof underlay. In addition, floating installation is cheaper in cost. |
